Hidden gem in Hayward! My husband and I have been going to El Indio II, which is their food truck on A St. When we learned about their restaurant closer to home we decided to try it out. First you place your order with the staff at the counter then choose your seating. Great service! Friendly staff. Delicious $1.50 street tacos daily, including weekends. Comes with complimentary chips and mild salsa, which is actually tasty. Not oily or stale. Pleasantly surprised and satisfied whenever we go. I wanted to post a review because when we go visit there is usually no one else there, but it is most likely due to others not knowing. The food is so good and reasonably priced so others need to know! They have ample space for families and groups. Big parking lot too. FYI my favorite are Tuesdays for their chicken tacos. They also have Sunday Buffet with a variety of Mexican food for $25/person I think 9am to 2pm. We look forward to trying that sometime soon!

My daughter & I came to the buffet on Sunday, and this place was surprisingly good! You can tell everything I tasted was made with passion. My daughter can be pretty picky but she went back for more food, when almost wiping hers clean. There were so many options! They made fresh tortillas on the spot. Service was amazing, so welcoming & attentive. It was very clean place, with festive decor & good music. I will definitely be back!

Walked over here whilst I was getting new tires replaced down the street. Cool find totally never even knew this strip existed, kinda hidden from the main drag. Which gives it a true local's feel. Even though it is basically a taqueria, it looks much more than that. This definitely used to be a sit-down restaurant at one point. The place is big for a taqueria with ample seating and actual cool decor. Telemundo on the TV and Hispanic romantic jams on pipe, taqueria vibe complete. Saw they had a specials board for 'Tacos of the Day'. Day I went they were having Carnitas Tacos for $1.50 ea. Sold, I'll take 2! They were super legit, almost too legit to where the grease factor was on the high side. The tortillas were grilled in oil, which I normally like. But the pork was so juicy and greasy, that between the two, made it a tad overboard. This is not for the faint of heart or Americanized palates. But really good flavor, porky and salted right. Also tried a bowl of Menudo ($15/3.5*) Pretty good, flavor and texture wise. Good chile flavor and the tripe pieces were tender enough. I like it a tad more tender where the tripe feels like silk. I think they may even add buche, which is the more chewy exterior of the pork stomach. And there was a chunk of pata meat, but it wasn't connected to any bone, just pure gelatinous/fatty goodness. I actually wished there were more of that. But again, the bowl had an impressive oil slick on top that I just couldn't ignore. I skimmed much of it off with a spoon before diving in, just didn't want to sip on that much oil. I think they should do more of that in the kitchen. If they did, then this version would be 4+*. They got Mexi beers in bottles and the lady at the counter was sweet. Super fast service too, like lightning fast. I would come back to try more things, and I wouldn't need an appointment in the neighborhood. Hood eats on!

Hands down the best nachos I've ever had!!!! The to go container was stuffed to maximum capacity with the freshest, crispiest chips topped with everything a nacho lover could want! Beans, guacamole, sour cream, jalapenos, pico de gallo, green onions & cheese sauce, yes, cheese sauce! On nachos i prefer cheese sauce over shredded. Shredded feels wrong and it never gets into all the nooks & crannies & spaces the way a nice cheese sauce does. Everything tastes fresh and delicious & you get such a large portion, easily 2 meals worth! Even my parents liked them and they don't like ANYTHING!! The lady at the counter was a sweetheart and very accommodating. And the very best part... Its literally a 90 second drive from my house! Ill absolutely be back!

The food was excellent and very large portions! I have the Pezole (I'm sure I spelt it wrong) it was delicious! The salsa is nicely spicy. The plates we ordered were big enough for two! We got the taquitos, nachos, 2 plates for chorizo street tacos and the soup and there was hardly any room for plates. I took 1 star away for cleanliness and handing us the cups by the top of the cups and they do not have straws so you need to drink from the cup where she was holding it.

Hole in the wall diner in Hayward and I have to admit, I didn't expect much. But to be honest the food was amazing. Possibly some of the best food I've had. I had the do's tamales and every aspect of it was cooked to perfection. The lady that runs it was as sweet as she could be and I highly recommend it. The salsa tastes fresh as hell! Food: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Cosmetics: 1 Star. They have beer in the bottle but nothing on tap and no spirits. This place is only for filling up the tank. Don't expect to be wooed

Me an my work family decided to try it on a whim based on the reviews... It did not disappoint, I had the pozole and it was delicious even after i had to rush to a meeting, came back and it was more delicious than it was before. Coworkers raved about the quesadillas and the menudo too... We will be returning. The reason for the 4 Stars was for the confusion with large phone order payment. But that aint going to stop us from going back.
